What is Seachem Flourite Sand?

Seachem Flourite Sand is a porous clay gravel that is perfect for use in planted freshwater aquariums, whether it be cold-water or tropical. This sand is most effective when used alone, but can easily be used alongside other sands or gravels to achieve the best possible look for your aquarium. Even if you choose not to have a planted aquarium, this sand is suitable to be used in non-planted aquariums too. This sand is a beautiful deep brown shade that deeply reflects the natural waters, and will provide a deep backdrop to your aquarium, making your plants and fish stand out even more. If you choose to use this sand with other substrates, you could section spots of your aquarium with different substrates, to add highlight and contrast to areas you want to stand out.

How do I use Seachem Flourite Sand?

To use the Seachem Flourite Sand, you should rinse well first to remove residual dust. Place into your aquarium and scape as required. When filling the tank, be careful not to disturb the substrate as this will cause a cloudiness, which will decrease over time, especially with the use of a filter floss. You will need one 3.5kg bag per 30cm2 of aquarium base, at a depth of 2cm.
