Anubias Barteri Butterfly is one of many forms readily available to the planted aquarium community. Favored for its dark green color and broad, textured leaves, this aquarium plant is a great introductory plant. Anubias have solid reputations in planted aquaria for being nearly indestructible. They’re extremely hardy and will adapt to a range of conditions, making them suitable for low tech tanks, high tech planted aquariums, and even terrariums.
An aquatic aroid, they are similar to Philodendron and Monstera plants. They’re versatile with placement in aquascaping and will grow happily when attached to porous structures like rocks or natural driftwood. While it isn’t required, providing CO2 and a quality plant fertilizer will noticeably boost form and growth speed. If you’re looking for a beginner plant or need lush filler for your aquascape, consider Anubias plants!
