Cabomba piauhyensis, also known as Cabomba furcata, is an aquatic stem plant native to the Americas. This aquarium plant features lush, delicate foliage in shades of green, brownish-red, and wine red. Its fine, fan-shaped leaves add beautiful texture to planted tanks and provide cover for smaller tropical fish and invertebrates. When grown in a pond, Cabomba is also, arguably, one of the best aquatic plants for enjoying a lovely top-down view. It grows extremely fast and quickly absorbs available nutrients, providing natural filtration in aquariums or ponds and effectively reducing chances of algae appearing.
Most Cabomba species are relatively easy to care for, but this variety is more demanding and requires stable conditions. Provide strong lighting, CO2 injection, and a full supply of macro- and micronutrientswhether through quality aquasoil, root tabs, liquid fertilizers, or a combination of these. Its form and coloration are also improved when grown in softer water.
