Cryptocoryne Spiralis ‘Jwala’
This aquarium plant is a variation of Cryptocoryne Spiralis! Truthfully, information about this cultivar is still limited within the planted aquarium community. Based on the original species, it likely produces slender, elongated leaves in varying shades of green, brown, red, and olive. Like most Cryptocoryne plants, we believe it would work well in the midground area, where it will add texture and a good transition between different areas of an aquascape layout. Plus, Crypts look great at the base of stones and dritwood.
This family of aquarium plants is known for being low-maintenance and beginner-friendly. However, this comes with caveats! Cryptocoryne should be planted in mature, cycled aquariums that are well-balanced between light and nutrient levels. Use quality aquasoil and allow them to send down roots before attempting to relocate or propagate to reduce chances of crypt melt!
