DYMAX stainless steel instrument is made from surgical stainless steel. This is an informal term which refers to certain grades of stainless steel that is used in biomedical applications. Martensitic 420 stainless steel is used to make these instruments which refer to the grade of corrosion resistant of the steel. 420 stainless steel is also known as “Cutlery stainless steel” which is a high carbon steel alloyed with chromium. This steel has a characteristic of very good corrosive resistance and hardness compared to other cutlery steel. For this reason, it is commonly used in biomedical cutting instruments.

To make the products excellent corrosive resistance and elegant looking, the instruments are further treated with an additional anodizing process. This is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a black decorative anodic oxide finish.
